What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is more commonly known as talk therapy.
Psychotherapy is useful for addressing a variety of concerns – from general life stress, to recovery from traumatic events, to specific mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.
Elements from different therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT etc.) are combined to customize a treatment plan best suited to meet the needs of each individual client.
Therapy may be conducted in an individual, family, couple, or group setting, and can help both children and adults.
What is a psychological assessment?
A psychological assessment is a structured series of interviews, standardized tests, and questionnaires designed different abilities, skills and personality traits or characteristics.
Assessments are always individualized, based on the needs of the client.
Following the assessment phase, the information is collated into a formal report which clearly describes the findings.
Based on the results of the testing, a diagnosis can be made and recommendations to determine a treatment plan.
